Gray Blades tie Envelopes 2 all!!!

MIA:
Mark.....vacation
Jim Stone...Doctors orders!!!

Call up:  Gerry and he made the difference..without his outstanding play we would have gone the whole summer losing to these wood choppers!!!!

We got a beauty by Faster Pete..a seeing eye goal right along the ice that fooled the Envelope Goalie

After one period it was a 1 all tie when we moved Enzo up to the wing and Murray went back...paid off in his first shift and we took a 2 to 1 lead

but with only a couple of minutes left we coughed up the puck in front of our net and the enemy tied it
Jim Stone joined us after the game to celebrate his 3 assists!!!!!

really missed Jennifer tonight...she was on vacation....bad timing!!1
Yes...there are 2 Ron Craigs in this pic

Scotland warm ups at the Caledonian

Road trip into TO to the Caledonian for a night of all thing Scottish.  Look at the sign. Ron said that "alba gu brath" translated is "Scotland Forever".  Oh, oh, I'm in trouble, I'm not going to understand a single word for 7 days.

Deb did a great job putting this evening together.

Robbo, Reg, Jim, Sue, Diane and Kelly enjoying some Sottish fare. Had my first plate of haggis, neeps and tatties.  Had reservations, but it was delicious. The spices in the haggis make the difference. Can't wait to try it on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

Gordo, Joanne and John. Don't know about the brew dog but the Caledonian has over 400 different whiskies

Diane is holding the trip itinerary that Deb handed out. Jim has lost his already, so Robbo will have to keep an eye out for him. The fun starts in one month.

Missed Olia (LA), Tom (GB), Liz (PEI), John + Sue (SA).

Whisky, whisky and more whiskey.
Don't be fooled by this picture.
It is actually a picture of John J's home bar.

Gray Blades lose to MML Lynx 4 to 2!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIA:
Ron Craig...buying a Golf Course in PEI

Returning:
Reg after 2 weeks shoulder injury...remarkable recovery..apparently used the Leafs Hyperbolic chamber to come back so soon....Mark after many weeks Lower body injury...Tom, after 2 weeks sinus surgery

It was 2 all with less than 3 minutes to go when we coughed up the puck that lead to a breakaway and that would prove to be it!!!!!

They added an empty netter with one second left on the clock

Our Goal scorers were Stone and Johnny

I cannot recall whenever these guys beat us before....maybe never!!!...That is Yasser Arafat's hat under the fries plate!!!

At least Jim stone had 3 assists and you have to admire Jennifer's jugs!!

At least faster Pete did not have to perform CPR tonight!!!

Gray Blades tie the Blues 6 all

MIA: were

Tom.....upper Body injury
Mark...whole body injury
Murray..upper body injury
Reg......upper body injury and on Holiday practicing his shots

Call up;   Phil, Stothers and Christian

the following from team manager JA:
We tied the Blues 6 to 6
The Blues got out to an early 2 to 0 lead
We outplayed them but every time we tied it up they would  get a  fluke goal to take the lead.
We tied it up with 2 minutes to go and that is how it ended.

1 goal for Jim
2 goals for Pete
2 goal for John
1 goal for Dan Stotherr.......and Stone had 3 assists!!!!

Gray Blades 3..Envelopes 5

MIAS were Hal (vacation), Reg (upper Body injury) Mark (whole body injury) and Steve (watching Bruins Reruns).........call ups were Christian and Danny Stothers and Phil...2 goals by Faster Pete and Stothers had the other

The Envelopes seem to score all their goals on flukes and we had as many chances but not the same luck....it was our first game this month that Faster Pete did not have to provide first aid!!!!!

It was Tom's last game for awhile as he goes under the Knife next Monday, and not sure how to do the reporting of the games as Cub reporter Reg is on Vacation and the rest of the team doesn't know how to use a camera!!!!!
But we want to end with some good news and that is JIM STONE had 3 ASSISTS!!!!!

7.15.2019

Gray Blades 4 MML LYNX 3

A
costly victory as another Gray Blades goes down for the count...at least it wasn't a heart attack ...a separated shoulder

Reg should recover in time for the Scotland trip

we had Richard filling in in net and he saved our Bacon!!!!

Reg had 2 goals before he had the incident..Enzo and Faster Pete each had one..... with 2 minutes to play and the MML down 4 to 3 they pulled their Goalie and wouldn't you know it we had Murray , Tom and Ron on the ice to defend ...3 really old almost 70 year olds ...so it was not good...but an errant pass by the bad guys was intercepted by Murray who shot a 7 MPH cannon at the empty net....they could have reached it but were so mesmerized by the incredible shot they just watched... and the Ref told me it would not have been Icing if we  missed because the could have got it!!!!!!

Jim Stone was the point leader with 3 assists!!!!

Gray Blades dump the Blues 5 to 2!!!~

We were missing Mark (all body injury) and Steve (reminiscing the Bruins loss)
Just before our game saw these Peewees wearing the Pink....it's catching on!!!!!

and who appears but our Goalie, Neil,  fresh from the heart attack 2 weeks ago to show us he is fine

He was so happy to have a first responder , in Faster Pete on the team to help him get through

we are all happy to see him back , Jim is sporting a t-shirt that shows when he graduated!!!

that makes for the 4th heart attack on the Gray Blades in the last few years
off to the Pub after the game and the lovely Jennifer is dressed to the 9's

and the D figured in all five goals!!...Gordo and Faster Pete with 2 and the one by John came from the point on a deflection..and Walt ,our Goalie kept us in the game in the first period when we got off to a 3 to 0 lead...they could not solve him!!!

The Blues shortened the bench in the last period, their  top player got a double minor for slashing early in the 2nd and we scored 2 goals while he sat.....

basically , a lot of talented players all playing as individuals...thank God for Jim's 3 helpers or the game would have been tied!!!
