Gray Blades Founders meet at St Jame Gate

Between the seasons we got together to discuss retirement options and where to hold the ceremony for the retirement of our sweaters....and Jim Stone had 3 assists!!!!

Gray Blades dump Hawks Bellyachres 4 to 1

John was able to pick up Ron Chantaj  to help us out on the Def...he forgot his visor but the refs did not notice!!1...the Hawks did their usual hack and slash but mostly skated around in circles with no clear plan...we only had 8 players to their 3 lines!!!!

and surprise, surprise!!, Gordo shows up to watch us win the Constipation event!!! Our Goals were by Colin, Andy, a seeing eye goal from the slot and 2 others by John and Reg set up beautifully by Andy.....

Colin shows his slashing wound, that got him so mad that he did a "Bobby Orr" and skated through the whole team to notch the clincher!!!

Stothers, whose team defeated Caseys to win the championship, joins our table...Casey's added 2 guys whose age does not add up to mine late in the season, but in the end, they lost!!!!....Jim Stone had the usual 3 assist tonight, that he donated to Owen, for some reason.....and this night was my last for the winter season league...my thanks to John for doing a great job taking over and to Cub reporter Reg who will be doing the Blog in the future.

Gray Blades 7 - Hawks 2

Tom was down south looking to land the leading role in the la la land sequel, Jim was packing for FLA, Chads was flying high, Gerry + Gord were rehabbing.  So the line up was down to 9 skaters. Robbo + the 3 D were solid the whole game but especially in the 1st period.  The forwards finally found the net this week + ended up pummelling the Hawks 7-2.

Andy is either getting psyched up to play the biggest game of his life . . . or taking a nap.  

On the way to the bench for a line change, Paul took an elbow to his head from one of the tards on the Hawks.  Late in the 3rd, Paul evened up the score. The best part was watching Kerry get the best of their star D-man shift after shift.  The guy couldn't get going because Kerry was all over him all night long.  

Paul got the hat trick + singles went to Hal, John, Andy + Reg. One more game for the winter season. Looking forward to playing the Hawks again. Should be fun.

Caseys 5 - Gray Blades 1

There is no joy in Mudville, the mighty Gray Blades have struck out.  The team will not repeat as champions and are relegated to play in the toilet bowl. Failing to score on early opportunities proved costly.  Although, Andy did weave around their defence inside the hash marks and scored a nice goal. But that was it.

 Look hard and you will find the 2 musketeers that made it to Jack's to drown their sorrows. 

Driving home through a winter storm on March 1st seemed fitting.
