1ST game of the Playoffs

We were down 3 to zip in the first period

But we got 2 back in the second with goals by Quiggs and Tom and we were back in it!! Colin here is puzzled how the Leafs could have won tonight!!

But in the 3rd period we were starting to show our mettle when a certain Ref called a penalty on us...a double minor to Chads, no less and we once again lost playing against 2 teams..

Gray Blades 4 Mimico Old Farts 3

Just got back from Florida and I arrive at the rink looking like this!!

A game that does not mean anything because we are in 3rd place and Mimico is in 6th no matter what the outcome!!

 It should be pointed out that Reg was on the ice for the last minute and a half with an empty net staring at him!!

the 2 66 year old guys got 3 goals to lead the team and Reg got the winner....Tom had 2 and Stoner had 1 with 4 assists

Dan Stothers dropped by to belly ache about how he is missing his key players for the playoffs....sob

I was in Florida for a month and Cub reporter Reg did a super job and we look forward to him taking over when I retire

Gray Blades Shut Out Classics 2-0
Injuries, vacations and various other reasons dropped the roster to 8 skaters + no goalie this week.  Gerry and Marc stepped up to fill the void.  Gerry was solid between the pipes + recorded the shut out.  Having lost all 3 previous games in which he played, Marc finally wound up on the winning side. Pete + Reg got the goals this week, with assists going to Owen, Marc + Jim. Gray Blades remain in 3rd place with a 13-5-1 record.

Jim Stone hosts Super Bowl 50 party.
Cam Newton's highly anticipated MVP party and \Jim's retirement fund took a big hit tonight.  On the bright side Gord scored twice tonight and the referees did not take it away.  Gord won a pool at half time and another for the final score.  Although Ron Craig missed the big pool, he did cash in on one of the other pools. Robbo was shut out. Tom and Murray were kept off the score sheet. Reg is questioning Jim because there seems to be a misunderstanding as to the meaning of the words "guaranteed win".  It was good to see Bill, John, . . . .
Overall, another great party!

Gray Blades 5 - Casey's 2
With the regular season almost finished, Casey's find themselves in a battle for the fourth and final playoff spot in the top tier.  So this game was important to them and they had an early 2-1 lead.  The Gray Blades finally started rolling, scoring 3 times in the second period.  Only problem was that after recording Gord's goal on the game sheet, the refs decided that the goal would not count. So they crossed it out.

Robbo shut the door on Casey's and the forwards scored two more in the third period.

Kerry scored twice, singles went to Mark, John and Quigs. That's what the game sheet says. Except I thought that Gord scored twice and only had 1 taken away.
Anyways, we ended up a Jack's to rehydrate. Evidently, we always want a beverage.

Jim looked nervous at the game.  Super Bowl 50 takes place this weekend.  He has made all the party arrangements. But he may have promised more guaranteed wins than there are betting pools.
