Gray Blades snatch victory from the jaws of defeat to dump Coopers 4 to 2

As Gerry passes the monitor showing the Leafs down 2 to nothing after only five minutes he does not take a second look, but it happened to the Blades anyway, we were down 2 o zip against the last place team after only 5 minutes!!!!

We were able to wear our fabulous Black uniforms tonight for a change....Coopers, who are in the first year in this league had a full squad...3 lines and 6 def....no room in their dressing room, they had to go outside to change their minds

Any how...we got to business and woke up, being down 2 to zip, we had to do something......and we did , Johnny A got us on board on a beautiful redirect from Paul, then the ever reliable Stone tied it shortly after ...and we were back in the game!!

Half way through the 3rd period, Paul, got a questionable penalty and we sent out Andy who right away scored a seeing eye Goal, short handed no less!! to give us the lead!!!

With a minute to go and needing a goal to tie, Coopers pull their Goalie...we knew we had to send our empty net specialist, Reg, but before we could blink, Hal  put the game away with his first Goal as A Gray Blade!!!..we forgot to gather the puck???

Jim Stone who got the tying goal managed to get his usual 3 assist performance and we hear rumours that even Putin has sent over under cover scouts to watch this guy

Alas, we could not do our team picture tonight because Andy forgot the Blades Socks!!. (pictured) I had to give the photographer a hundred bucks anyway and booked him for next week!!!

A great turn out at the noisy Jacks as we have a record 8 players including Paul!!!!

Jim is being informed by manager John Annan that his "no trade contact" may have to be waived. The league has several teams interest in his 3 point per game production and one team is offering Andy's twin brother!!!!

Yuck, another 10:30 game

We were missing Stone and Paul Martin , lower and upper body injuries respectively, not to mention Quiggs, Mark and Gordo on the shelf indefinitely...good news is, Gordo came home from the Hospital today and is on the mend and looking forward to trying the Stone diet!!!!

We got  off to a good start with a 3 to 1 lead in the first period on goals by Faster Pete, John and Tom (after 3 Point Blank misses!!)...In the only goal of the 2nd period they made it close by scoring to make it 3 to 2 for us. In the 3rd period we explode with 3 quickies by Andy, Kerry and Reg and they were done . Gerry bailed us out when we made our mistakes

Reg noticed that the sister restaurant of Jack's, next door is being renovated, maybe because they want our business

Tanya mentioned that she will follow us wherever  we may go!!

Next week we play the early game against the new guys....Coopers

And singles to Tom, Paul (a beauty seeing eye goal from the slot) and Andy (his first of the season and Owen wanted to retrieve the puck but it was too late!!)

Johnny A played Rover and went through the lines and had 3 assists

These guys are wood choppers and only had 2 penalties, bu should have had way more!!

So I thought that as I taped the rest of the team wishing a speedy recovery to Gord, something went wrong and I lost the feed, so be it known we are all wishing you back very soon

Gray Blades squeak out a win 5 to 4 over the Night Hawks

Gerry really came through especially in the dying seconds   ..think he may be a bit camera shy...no need to keep the Puck Bunnies  wondering

Not seen these two for awhile...Andy reports ready to play his first game of the winter season and Mark who went down for the count in summer hockey pays us a visit...Mark career is on hold for the time being

we had 10 skaters and were missing regulars, Jim Stone (lower body injury), Colin, (in Kansas City) and Faster Pete  (doing commercials for Shopsy's)

Yes John scored and got an assist on the same play, that we thought only Stone could do

we were down 2 to zip before we knew what happened to us..but then Johnny A scored to quick beauties and we were back into it...goals by Reg,  Kerry and a seeing eye goal by Chads put us up 5 to 3, but with a minute to go we let them back in on a great redirect by their star #39....they pulled their goalie so naturally we send out our empty net specialist, Reg, and we prevailed. It should be noted that Gerry saved the game with 5 seconds to go on a terrific stopper...so good that the other team signalled a goal but they were just wishful thinking
