Blades win 2 to 0

Reg and Robbo welcome Quiggs , an unrestricted free agent to the Gray Blades!!!

One again we struggled to have players!!....Missing...Dryds, Owen, Stone, Murray,Mark....and we called up another guy Mark!!...for a total of 9 guys against 3 lines for Mimico

Probably our worst passing game in months...many of our set ups went to Mimico!!  With 2 minutes to go and Mimico down by 2, they pulled their Goalie and so we countered by leaving Reg on the Bench!!

Fortunately, we had Robbo in net or the outcome would have been different!!

Goals by Quiggs and Reg, and 3 assists by Stone who showed up at the game without his equipment , which was sad because , one of our players who will be nameless, but he has a street named after him in Scarborough, forgot his pants!!!

We were missing..Owen,Colin, Murray, Andy. Kerry and Johnny.....and our call ups, Quiggs, Marc and Craig were un available!!!

Fortunately, Peter secured Dave for our D and that made it 8  skaters against their 9

Erin Mills Goalie should sue for lack of defence!!

Mark had a Hatrick with singles to Chads, Peter,Reg and Dave.  Stone and I both had 2 assists, but I am giving one of my assists to Stone so he can maintain his 3 per game average

Gary Blades dump Casey's 4 to 2

Yes the dreaded 10:30 game. The City of Mississauga does not have a lot of respect for their Older Tax Payers giving us a time like this?  In Florida our age bracket plays at noon!!!

Peter warms up to the enemy, the guy that called a penalty on us with 3 minutes to go who in the preceding 3 minutes let the Casey team maul Kerry and trip Andy. Don Cherry would have something to say about this!!

A natural hat trick by Reg, assisted on all by Andy got us off to a good start.

And Mike from John's Wednesday league was great in net and kept us in the game.  In the 3rd period with 7 minutes to go,Casey's deflected a bouncing puck into the net to make it 3 to 2 for us.  And with Chads called on a questionable trip with 3 minutes to go , we were in trouble. With a minute to go, Casey's pulled their Goalie and just as he got off, Andy shot a seeing eye rifle from deep in our end, and it found the back of the net....all over !!

for a change we went to Jack's....missing John and Owen next week ...Oh and I forgot to mention, Jim Stone had 3 assists!!

So we are talking about Owen and Peter's suspension and whether Andy is going to make it, because we would, and did end up with only 9 guys!!

Andy didn't make it but Kerry did and had 2 hilite  youtube goals including the 6th goal that sort of made their Goalie quit... and by the way with a minute to go Kerry set me up on an easy tap in, but the Refs blew the whistle because their goalie did not have his mask on!!!

Chads had a beauty and so did Mark!!. Reg had 2 that were beauties as well!!

We started in the hole as their first shot , a limpy from outside the circle found its way to the net...and that gave them confidence as they played well and had us on the ropes.

But in the 2nd period we scored 2 that put us in the lead!!

By the 3rd period we were in control and score 4 unanswered goals to put them away!!

I told Tanya to check out the Gray Blades Blog....nobody on the team knew the address!!!

I start the game with Chads and Dryds,  awesome!! just have to stand in front of the net and get some Stone type goals....lasted one shift!!.....Owen and Peter get kicked out of the game in the early going because they did not like the Ref's aftershave!!!

Our boys attempted to talk to the refs after the game but no such luck!!

Dryds had 2 goals and one was a beauty short handed and either Stone or Gordo had the other, either way Stone assisted!!!

Next week we are sans Owen and Peter, so looks like either Marc or Quiggs or both will be called up!!
