Gray Blades blow a 4 to 1 lead

with about 5 minutes to go, the Blades were comfortably in the lead 4 to 1 but it all came apart

Robbo can only do so much and we let him down as they scored 3 goals in the last 5 minutes with a little help from the refs

The Old Night Hawks , really the Old Wood Choppers, intimidated us enough that they found their way back...the Refs let them hack us and we figured out too late that we should have played at their level

We were missing Quiggs, Owen, Andy, Mark, Kerry and Gordo and had call ups Faster Marc and Craig.....Faster Marc, Stone , Reg and Johnny scored our goals,,, and the number of chances we had are too numerous to mention

But in spite of Stone's 3 assists, it was not enough..above is 200 years of experience

in the dying minutes , Faster Pete went off, when there should have been only one penalty to the Wood Choppers!

Looking forward to our next game against these guys...and it didn't help that our Manager had to leave midway through the 2nd period to have a Crap!!!

I had to have Tanya take this as we won't see Murray and Ron too often at this table this season

Da Blades Dumped last season champs , Lyons 7 to 4 as they could not solve Andy and Reg!!

Andy had an average night with 4 goals and 3 assists, and Reg had a Hatrick as well

Our very aggressive Defence left Robbo alone on numerous occasions , but he prevailed

Our 3 very old dinosaur Right Wingers with a combine experience of almost 200 years managed to hold their own some how......and the best part was Jim Stone had 3 assists

and it doesn't matter that they scored their 3rd goal on a slap shot that did not cross the line , but who are these  blind refs who also refused to stop the clock for 5 minutes when Robbo had an equipment problem....

I guess because it was a late game we only had 5 guys at the bar...but Tanya took good care of us!!
