GRAY BLADES 8 - MIMICO 1

Gray Blades show a lot of offence.  Paul lead the way setting up 4 goals. Chads had 2 goals + 2 helpers.  Hal had a good game with 2 goals + 1 assist. Singles to O, Steve, Faster Pete + Reg. 

GRAY BLADES 5 - COOPERS 0

Gerry played his second game since coming off the DL. Good to have him back between the pipes + he earned the shut out.  

Colin came out to help the Blades for the second consecutive week.   

John's back has been sore for a while but it recently got worse and he took on coaching duties for this week.  He's going to go see Jim's witch doctor for  cure. 

Faster Pete was back in the lineup having served a ridiculous 8 game suspension. Funny thing, in the incident that started this bs, the other guy got a match misconduct + Pete got a minor. In some twisted application of logic, Pete ends up suspended for more games than the guy with the match. 

The standings are not impressive.

Good to see the Gray Blades forwards clicking for a change.  Dryds and Chads owned the O zone + got 1 goal each but could have had much more. Paul got 2 goals + Hal rounded out the scoring. 

Caseys 4 - Gray Blades 2

Jerry was back between the pipes tonight and played a solid game.  Colin and Enzo got the call to join the big club and filled in for the missing D. 

The game got off to a good start with Dryds scoring 2 times on 1 shift. It was 2-1 at the end of the first period. 

Caseys tied it up midway through the period + got the winner with just over a minute left in the game. An empty netter made it 4 to 2 for the bad guys.  

Gray Blades 2 - Strangers 0

Gray Blades start the New Year off on the right foot by handing the Strangers their 2nd loss of the season.  

Jerry is still on the DL.  Kirk filled in between the pipes.  He was outstanding and earned the shutout.  Gord, O, Rich and John had solid games on D and stopped their forwards, time and time again. Dryds top shelfed the puck after a strong effort in front of their net. Then, he closed out the win with an empty netter.          

Lyons lost their game, so there are only 3 points separating 3 teams in a battle for 2nd place.
